Visteon India Tackles Pandemic with Compassion, Cooperation

06/30/2021

In recent months, India has been greatly impacted by COVID-19. The surge in daily cases and shortage of hospital beds, oxygen and ventilators has made the situation extremely challenging.

Employees in India are volunteering to distribute food and medical kits to the needy and helping create makeshift wards for those who are sick. Others are stepping in to support the projects and assignments of coworkers impacted by the virus to ensure business continuity to customers.

A COVID Task Force was created to identify other ways to support impacted employees. The Task Force procured oxygen concentrators and oximeters for each Visteon location in India. A special health insurance policy was introduced to provide additional COVID-related hospitalization coverage for employees and their immediate family members. Employees could also get access to salary advances for immediate financial needs.

Visteon also organized vaccination drives in Bangalore, Chennai and Pune for employees and their family members.

Bhatia praised the outpouring of support and tremendous cooperation among employees, especially the “COVID Warriors” employee support group that selflessly volunteered to secure one another’s well-being.
