Visteon explores future of mobility by increasing network of industry partners in China

With the ambition of developing a growing network of industry collaborators as part of an ecosystem that can contribute to innovation on its open platforms, Visteon signed a number of key strategic cooperation agreements at Auto China 2019.

Promising exciting and mutually beneficial collaborations, Visteon announced partnerships with SenseTime  a global leader in artificial intelligence (AI) platforms; Kuandeng Technology  an innovative company focused on high-precision map R&D; and Chinese academic institution – Tongji University.

SenseTime has independently developed and established one of the world's top deep learning platforms and supercomputer center, launching a series of leading AI technologies such as face recognition, video analysis, autonomous driving and remote sensing, which has made it the largest AI algorithm provider in China.

The collaboration will look to integrate SenseTime’s high-quality resources with Visteon's smart automotive products. For consumers, products and technological innovations will be used to ensure the safety of autonomous driving and upgrade the cockpit experience. For the industry, leading-edge technology will be leveraged to promote the development of the intelligent driving industry.

As an emerging business in China, Kuandeng Technology is committed to promoting the widespread application of autonomous driving through a business model based on intelligent crowdsourcing of high-precision maps. This agreement extends Visteon’s technical expertise and reach in this specific field.

The cooperation with Kuandeng Technology will also help Visteon customize the DriveCore™ autonomous driving platform for the Chinese market by providing advanced and open-end autonomous solutions for Chinese customers – ultimately offering a better ride experience to end-consumers.

“The strategic cooperation agreements with SenseTime, Kuandeng Technology and Tongji University are a further move taken by Visteon to expand its network of top-class partners in China, building on existing collaborations with GAC Research Institute, Tencent, ZongMu Technology and others. As automotive technology continues to develop at a rapid rate, these latest agreements demonstrate Visteon’s commitment to the intelligent connectivity market, as well as its ambition to provide innovative solutions for digital cockpits, centralized computing and autonomous driving by building a sustainable automotive ecosystem.”

Visteon also announced a strategic cooperation with the automotive college at Tongji University – with the signing ceremony witnessed by the Dean of Tongji’s automotive school.

As part of this partnership, Visteon will hold an AI algorithm competition, implement a talent development plan and deepen academic exchanges with the college, based on Visteon’s autonomous driving algorithm development tool DriveCore™ Studio. This is an open-end autonomous driving platform that allows self-driving software developers to create, test and validate new solutions.
