Visteon collaborates with leading university on automotive algorithm competition in China

Visteon has teamed up with Tongji University in China to host a new V-Hackathon event for students interested in and involved with the automotive areas of ADAS and software. Building on the collaboration established at Auto China 2019, the partners welcomed students at the highly respected Shanghai-based academic institution to take part in an advanced artificial intelligence (AI) competition based on Visteon’s autonomous driving algorithm development tool – DriveCore™ Studio.

Attracting more than 100 students forming 29 competing teams, the first phase of the competition commenced on July 12. Participants were encouraged to work together to outline, program and create a functional lane detection algorithm to assist autonomous driving on a real-world highway.

Running for four months, the competition will operate within the DriveCore™ Studio environment and will be evaluated by Visteon experts based on the accuracy, speed and hashrate of the submitted algorithms. Mentors will provide initial training and offer participants personal guidance in programming, product technologies and on-site operations through the duration of the competition.

The result of the V-Hackathon will be announced in October, with the winners being awarded an internship at Visteon’s technology center in Shanghai.
