Based on Visteon’s scalable DriveCore™ autonomous driving platform, the valet parking feature enables the driver to take a hands-off approach to parking as the system is capable of parking a vehicle in an open bay independently.

Drivers have the option to leave their vehicle at dedicated drop-off locations from where the vehicle will navigate autonomously to an available parking spot - without the need for the driver to supervise the parking maneuver.

When it is time to retrieve the vehicle, the driver can request the vehicle to pick them up at the drop-off zone.

Visteon’s valet parking enables the vehicle to search for a free parking space or have the driver – or car park operator – assign an appropriate space. The system incorporates path planning for pedestrians, obstacle detection and avoidance, while longitudinal and lateral control are engaged when the vehicle is in low-speed.
