Engine Induction Systems
![]() |
Visteon's Engine Induction Systems consist of the intake manifold, throttle body, fuel rail and air induction subsystems to provide clean, metered, throttled air and fuel to the engine. The result is a total air management approach.
Visteon engineers the Engine Intake and Air Induction subsystems simultaneously to maximize functional performance (acoustics, power, and torque), meet customer/packaging requirements and satisfy regulatory concerns.
Benefits
- Reduces inlet noise levels with fewer resonators and tuners because the Engine Intake and Air Induction subsystems are simultaneously engineered for optimal acoustic performance.
- Allows end of vehicle life recycling into new vehicle components by utilizing recycled and recyclable materials.
- Permits lower idle speed for decreased fuel consumption by combining with Visteon's Mass Air Flow Sensor.
- Reduces material usage for the system, leading to lower weight and cost by taking a holistic approach to engine air management, allowing for the potential integration of other air/fuel components.
