R744 Climate System

Visteon has developed a climate system that addresses environmental concerns relative to global warming and Hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) refrigerants. Visteon's R744 Climate System represents the next evolution of automotive climate systems by replacing R134a HFC refrigerant as the working fluid with CO2(carbon dioxide or R744).
The system was developed to address the consumer demand for "greener" vehicles and pending European Union legislation, which is expected to ban HFC refrigerant usage in automotive applications. Visteon's R744 Climate System can improve air conditioning performance, or can reduce fuel consumption, while completely eliminating the direct emissions of greenhouse gases produced by the HVAC system.
